Stonehenge and Georgian Bath

Stonehenge and Georgian Bath The Circles of Stonehenge - Located in the middle of the barren expanse of Salisbury Plain, with its horizontal lintels, the ancient monolithic stones of Stonehenge are unique among stone circles.

The Ancient Britons quarried, carved and lifted these massive stones, how it was constructed still defies belief. The first stone was placed here 5,000 years ago and finally completed 1,400 years later.

Stonehenge and Georgian Bath Bath's Georgian Crescents - We head on towards Bath, the countryside changing from the bleak and barren Salisbury Plain to the fertile and beautiful landscape of Wiltshire and Somerset. In Regency Bath which is a world heritage city, we find elegant stone buildings with terraces, crescents and a graceful square.

We visit the original 2,000 year old Roman Baths and Georgian Pump Room with its natural mineral water. Then there is time to explore Pulteney Bridge standing astride the River Avon, topped by shops and buildings or see Bath Abbey.

This tour returns to London at approximately 18.45hrs, subject to traffic conditions.
